We’re celebrating all things beautiful and British, with our range of UK grown, 97% peat free plants. Sourced from family-run growers based in Chichester, where they dedicate over 5 acres of land to growing potted plants.
Not only is peat free a better choice for the environment, but it’s also better for your plants! Helping support growth and aid water retention – what more could you ask for?
A very hardy and low maintenance houseplant, they are very tolerant of occasional (unintentional) neglect! According to NASA it is one of the best plants for improving air quality, removing toxins such as formaldehyde, ammonia and carbon monoxide from the air, this makes it an ideal home and office plant. It has distinctive long upright leaves with yellow edges. Native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to the Congo. Variegation on plant may vary.
This plant is grown in a peat-free medium, so you may find that the top soil tends to dry out a little faster – but don’t worry, just use your finger and test to see if the top 2-3 inches of soil are still moist, to avoid overwatering. You’ll also want to treat your plant to fertiliser during growing season, as you won’t find the same nutrients in this mix as you’d find in traditional soil.
