Bonsai tree but for beginners? Enter the Ficus Ginseng. With large roots and oval shaped leaves, this is a member of the Mulberry family and is found across southern Asia. There are more than 2,000 varieties of Ficus trees worldwide and this one isn’t just a pretty face – some believe it has healing properties, although we’re perfectly happy with it just looking cute in our home.
If it’s possible for a plant to be considered old and wise, then the Ficus Ginseng definitely is. The roots are often grown for around 15 years before being imported by Dutch growers.
The Ficus Ginseng is a simple plant, requiring a minimal care routine of warmth and indirect sunlight. Keep it out of drafts and windy spots, and you’re good to go!
